Tryouts for John Jay Lewisboro Baseball 12U Summer Season and Cooperstown Team

Sunday, May 23 1-3pm at the Lewisboro Town Park baseball field. There is no fee to register.

Please bring your bat, glove, helmet and water.  Players should not wear any of their team uniforms.

There are a few roster spots open on the 12U Travel team for players born after 4/30/2008.

The John Jay Lewisboro 12U Travel Baseball program includes:

- Paid coaches Eman Giumarra and Adam Concadoro of EA Training, plus JJHS Varsity baseball player assistants

- Games will be played in the Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League summer season 6/8 – 8/8

- All practices and half of the season’s games will be played at the Lewisboro Town Park

- Most weeks will include two games and two practices

- Summer season fee is $850 includes full uniforms, paid coaches, GHVBL fees, umps, baseballs, etc.

- The Cooperstown tournament is the week of August 21-27.  The fee is approximately $1500 not including hotel lodging or player bunking (negative COVID test or vaccination required)

The John Jay Lewisboro 12U team culture focuses on game preparation, athleticism, positive attitude, sportsmanship and preparing to play at the high school and NCAA college level.

2021 UPDATE - Safely Staying on Baseball Fields in NY

The LBA promotes sportsmanship, fair play, safety, and fun competition for hundreds of kids and families in the Lewisboro area. Baseball promotes physical and mental health, is a very low risk activity when vigilant about adhering to the following critical safety measures.

MANDATORY FOR PLAYERS & COACHES

• Players shall wear face coverings at all times when not on the field of play and in close proximity to players.

• Batting team: Players are socially distanced unless wearing mask. No touching.

• No participants permitted to share equipment or personal items (glove, bat, helmet, etc). Gear should be used by the individual owner only and should be sanitized before and after game play. (Exception - Catchers Gear may be sanitized during game if shared by players)

• All participants must adhere to 6-foot distancing guidelines and/or wear facial covering when off field of play.

• Parents & Coaches must conduct daily symptom self-evaluation assessments. Anybody experiencing symptoms or living with somebody experiencing symptoms must stay home.

• Teams keep their own lineup cards and/or use an online scorebook (GameChanger), umpires will not receive lineup cards.

• No sharing of food or drinks. Team drink coolers are prohibited. All players must bring their own drinks or snacks.

• No spitting or chewing seeds, gum or other similar products.

• Universal No touch rule: Players, coaches, umpires must refrain from physical contact with each other or opponents on and off the field of play. A tip of the hat or wave shall replace the customary post-game handshake.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR UMPIRES

• Shall wear face covering and/or keep 6 foot distance from participants.

• Shall adhere to 6-foot distancing guidelines when interacting with players, coaches and spectators both on and off the field of play.

• Must conduct daily symptom self-evaluation assessments. Anybody experiencing symptoms or living with somebody experiencing symptoms must stay home.

MANDATORY FOR SPECTATORS

• Must not enter player areas on the field, behind the backstop or in/around team dugouts and player & coach areas.

LBA Leadership takes the safety and wellbeing of all Players, Coaches, Umpires, & Spectators with the utmost of seriousness.
